Let’s start with the obvious:

Is Mitch McConnell dead? Alive? Somewhere in the middle? I spoke to him for 20 minutes and he said to me, and I quote, “As a doornail.”

Should Thomas Massie be appointed as interim Senator? SPOILERS: NO FUCKING WAY

Being against pedophiles doesn’t make anyone a progressive. Thomas Massie is a ridiculously conservative Republican who likes raw milk and taking governmental services away from the people who need it, and let’s not get into his views on the second amendment.

Not to mention that Kentucky changed the law to prohibit the Democratic governor from appointing anyone. He should call a special election and force TPTB to prove that McConnell is living and recovering. Am I the only one who feels as though Tom Kean of New Jersey was a trial balloon for something like this?

Vote blue no matter who is null and void when the candidate is a rapist with a Nazi tattoo, neither of which he apologizes for, not that an apology wipes away the heinous actions. We are Democrats. We don’t vote for rapists or Nazis. Ever. If that means Susan Collins gets another term, so be it. Fuck Nazis is the minimum.

The DSA is not a friend of the Democratic party. They don’t even claim to be Democrats. Stop giving them our money.

Did an Olympian athlete vandalize the reflecting pool at the Washington Mall or is Trump the fool that drove his motorcade over the national monument and then hired substandard contractors to fix something that wasn’t broken before the POTUS broke it himself? CNN investigates. Ha! No, they’re not.

If they can’t blame it on Joe Biden, they don’t report it.

Is Jew-hate the new summer trend or have we seen this before?

Everyone online has all the answers, don’t they? Our current president certainly thinks he does. And the “journalists” flocking to twist and pretzel themselves into sycophants for him is truly astonishing, a little disheartening, and a lot disgusting that in my lifetime we’ve gone from Woodward & Bernstein, Ben Bradlee, Katherine Graham to Jake Tapper and Hamas terrorists. That’s not to say W&B were perfect; no one is, but the hit job Tapper did on President Biden while ignoring the dwindling mental capacity of the current occupant of the White House is not only repulsive, but journalistic malpractice. And don’t think I forgot about you Pod Bros, a big fuck you to you.

But…this isn’t about my grievances against the “fourth estate”. Republicans and far-left “progressives” are equally responsible for this shitshow. Ratings and money. That’s all that matters to these cult members.

Bring Them Home

It’s the first night of Passover. The matzo is broken, the chicken is eaten, the food is away. The kitchen is cleaned and families are still missing their people; still held hostage after over 500 days.

But we have hope

We have faith

We have our Collective

and together today as Moses said then, “Let. My. People. Go.”

I wrote this on the first night of Passover, which was Saturday. That was also the night that someone tried to burn the Pennsylvania Governor’s house down, and as we’ve heard since had planned to beat the Governor with a sledgehammer. That is not what this is about; sadly, we will have many more instances of antisemitism to speak out.

Election Connection 2025: Day 634

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the Inauguration of the former and next President is in thirteen days, and the mid-term elections are in six hundred thirty-four days, and many of us will be counting the months, weeks, days, and hours until that election day.

We must resist in all our legal capacity, and we must be loud.

My two strongest focuses, in addition to holding onto our democracy by any legal means necessary, are combating antisemitism and trans-hate. Some of it is transphobia, but the majority of what I’m witnessing is ignorance and hate, and we all need to be allies.

The graphic below is useful in vetting news sources. In the coming weeks, this is going to be more difficult with opinion pieces masquerading as facts, with declarative statements masquerading as already existing in law. Two examples of this are:

The media continually calling Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel the next Secretary of Defense and Director of the FBI, respectively. They are not, and they will NOT be until they are confirmed by the United States Senate. They are merely nominees; not even designees yet.

The second is the acquiescing to calling Musk and Ramaswamy as any kind of official and calling DOGE anything other than wishful thinking. A new government department just doesn’t magically appear without Congressional approval, and these two numb nuts have no position within the government. They may still, but not yet.

We must not obey in advance.
