Today marks Yom HaShoah, which is Holocaust Remembrance Day for the more than Six Million Jews who were murdered by the Nazis in World War II.
As we remember them and keep their descendants in our prayers, this year (as last) we also remember the hostages who still remain imprisoned in Gaza. May they finally come home.

StandardBelow are two videos from The View television show that feature my Hebrew School teacher. I was searching for him online, and discovered that he died in 2020. I thought about him all of the time. I loved my time learning with him and recall it fondly. His daughter who you will see in the second video was our music teacher. One word of warning: the second video cuts off. I haven’t been able to find a conclusion.

A few links to follow to learn about this day as well as reflect on it. In addtion to Holocaust Remembrance Day, which began at sundown last night, it is also 80 years since the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. I have a well-worn book about the Uprising that I’ve kept since childhood.
Yom Hashoah is specific to commemorating the Jewish people who perished in the Holocaust.
