Remember and Remembering January 6th

Standard

January 6 will forever be Trump’s legacy—a violent, unforgivable assault on our nation’s capitol. No amount of revisionism or whitewashing by the MAGA GOP will erase it. The entire world watched in horror & nothing will ever change the fact that Trump is a fraud.

Four years ago today, violence erupted at the US Capitol as an insurrection took place. I watched in horror, standing in front of my television trying to comprehend what was happening. For me, it happened in slow motion. For the DC Metro Police and the Capitol Police and the thousands of civilians and Congresspeople working that day, it was a day that happened quickly, with brutality, and for some, has never ended.

I will never forget January 6th (2021), and it is one of my missions to make sure that it is remembered forever.

I have followed some of those attacked that day: Harry Dunn, Daniel Hodges, Michael Fannone, Aquilino Gonell, Eugene Goodman, but there are so many more whose names I do not know that were equally impacted by that horrifying day.
