Slowly Coming Back

Standard

I had an overwhelming desire to be in church this morning. There is no 9am Mass on Friday but I went anyway.

I prayed. I meditated. I read the Missal. Then I pulled out my Kindle version of The Word Among Us and today’s meditation was about friends from Sirach.
So perfectly timed when I’ve been reflecting on the blessings I’ve been given in my friends and grateful that those words and feelings of ‘prayer’ and ‘blessing’ don’t sound foreign to my ear.

Yesterday on Facebook, I mentioned a few special people from last week and I hope to expound a bit more later today.

Sitting in this pew has cleared my mind a bit more and I have the want to write and Scriptures has given me a place to begin again, in the place where all things are possible, in my friendships.

I heard church bells this morning from my window, which made me reflect on good experiences In my past when going to church. If anything, it’s a great place to energise yourself again.

    • I’m sorry I’m so long in getting to this. Church bells have always made me feel something, and you’re right there is something energizing about church as well as for me calming at the same time.
